Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: For weddings and large events, we recommend booking 6-12 months ahead, especially for popular dates like spring and fall weekends. For smaller gatherings and corporate events, 2-3 months is usually plenty. But don't worry if you need something sooner - we're often more flexible than you might expect!
Q: What if I don't know my final guest count yet??
A: No problem! We understand guest lists change. Give us your best estimate when booking, and we can adjust tables and chairs as your count gets firmer. We just need a final headcount about two weeks before your event.
Q: How much space do we need?
A: Our barn comfortably seats 100+ guests for dinner, or up to 150 for cocktail-style events. The gardens provide additional space for ceremonies, photos, and mingling. We're happy to walk through the space with you to make sure it's the right fit for your vision.
Q: Can we serve food and drinks?
A: Absolutely! You can bring your own catering, hire a caterer, or even do a potluck-style gathering. We have basic kitchen facilities and can recommend caterers who work well with our venue. Alcohol is welcome with proper permits where required.
Q: Is there an age minimum for events?
A: Not at all! We love hosting family-friendly events where kids can safely run around and play. From christenings to 90th birthday parties, celebrations for all ages feel right at home here.
Q: What areas do you serve?
A: We're located in Purcellville, Virginia, in beautiful Loudoun County. We welcome guests from the entire Washington DC metro area, Northern Virginia, and beyond. Many couples choose us specifically for our convenient location between DC and the Shenandoah Valley.
Q: What about restrooms and facilities?
A: We can arrange basic portable restrooms for events through our trusted vendor partners. For events requiring special accommodations, we'll work with you to ensure everyone's comfort.
Q: Are dogs really welcome at all events?
A: Yes! We're one of the few venues that genuinely welcomes well-behaved dogs as part of your celebration. Whether it's your family pets, therapy dogs, or even including dogs in your wedding party, we understand that pets are family. We just ask that owners are responsible for their pets throughout the event.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The barn provides beautiful covered space for any weather. If you're planning an outdoor ceremony, we can discuss backup plans and tent options. Virginia weather can be unpredictable, but we've learned how to work with it!
Q: Do you provide decorations?
A: The barn and gardens provide natural rustic beauty, but you're welcome to add your own decorative touches. We can recommend local florists and decorators, or you can bring your own DIY decorations. Many couples love the creative freedom to personalize their space.
Q: Is there parking for large groups?
A; Yes! We have ample parking space that can accommodate even large family reunions and corporate events. No need to worry about guests having to park far away or pay for parking.
